We were in a hurry...

...and I remembered everything but...

...his clothes!! When we realized that we had just driven a half hour to church to hear Natalie and Dustyn speak and we didn't have Gavin's clothes--well, we couldn't stop laughing, mostly out of embarrassment. Lesson learned: dress him before I leave the house, or at least start dressing him in the car so I know that I don't have his clothes before we get to our destination.

Thanks to Drew for the sweater vest (and Oliver who later gave Gavin a shirt to wear, too). We tried not to draw attention, but when you have kids at a single's ward, they are very noticed. The bishop even mentioned that having kids there makes them appreciate when there are no kids. Everyone laughed. Then Gavin laughed really loud (it was silent except for him). Then everyone laughed again.

Fun in Virginia

Gavin and I were able to go to visit his Grandma and Grandpa Mullins in early November. The price was right and why not? We had a blast, as usual.

This is Gavin playing on the tub. He felt like this was the perfect seat for him. He also figured out how to turn the water on all by himself.

We went to Deep Run Park and Gavin loved feeding the ducks and swinging.

We went to Sunday dinner at Great Grandma Mullins' and Gavin enjoyed playing the piano with Lily.

He also enjoyed dancing. His shirt is not snapped on the bottom because he had to be woken up from his nap to go to dinner and he was grumpy. I managed to change his diaper, but I couldn't snap the shirt.
Gavin and I took a walk one day and we went to play at the little league fields. He loved running around.

Gavin could hear a dog barking in the distance.
There was some leftover Halloween candy, so Gavin just had to say, "Trick or Treat" and Grandpa would give him candy.

Grandma took Gavin and I to the Children's Museum. It was SO fun for Gavin. There was an entire area for toddlers and he just loved it!

He loved the big trucks he could drive.

He loved these little tractors. He could even get on and off without help.

He also loved the slide. I helped him to go down like this so that it seemed safer. A few weeks later, Ben taught Gavin how to go down a slide the right way and Gavin definitely prefers it. But, this is still cute.

You can get the full effect here.
I thought this was a cute photo op display, but I wasn't that good at actually getting the picture right.

There was an area where you could plant and harvest vegetables. Gavin mostly liked to climb on top of it.

We enjoyed following him around and letting him explore.

There was a fun water area. I thought Gavin would love to play in the water, but he preferred the water slide.

We thought he looked pretty cute in his apron.

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for spoiling us so much when we come visit. We can't wait to see you for Christmas!

Turnk or Treat and Halloween

The church Trunk or Treat was a week before Halloween this year.  Gavin went as a lion to match Olivia's lamb costume.  Olivia's Grandma Dorothy bought the two costumes.  They were pretty cute.  Gavin didn't like the fake hair on the costume, though.  It kept getting in his mouth--you can see how happy he is to have it on.

For Halloween night Gavin went as a Gorilla.  We went to a few houses, so he could trick or treat.  He didn't really get what was going on.  A couple times he tried to go inside the house when someone would answer.  After about 8 houses, he turned around and headed home.  We spent the rest of the night on the driveway handing out the Halloween candy.  Gavin loved that because he got to run around and eat all the skittles he wanted.
