An Hour Long Elevator Ride...

Gavin and I spent an hour in the elevator at the gym this morning. We stepped into the elevator, the door closed, we pushed the button and nothing happened. We tried pushing the open door button--nothing. We tried all the buttons, but still nothing. So, we pushed the "HELP" button. I spoke to three different operators and none of them could figure out where we were. So, I used my cellphone to call the gym. The gym worker called the building owner, who called the elevator company, who sent a guy out to help us. Forty five minutes after that, we were free. Turns out the help button in the elevator calls the wrong elevator company. Glad I had my cellphone!
Gavin stayed pretty happy the whole time--especially while I had the camera out. I was wearing my swimsuit and cover up, since we were headed to playgroup at the splash park. I pulled my gym clothes on over my swimsuit while we waited to be rescued so that I wouldn't be totally embarrassed when the door did finally open.
And thank goodness I had snacks.
We missed playgroup, but I couldn't let Gavin be disappointed. So, we headed to a closer splash park. We still had a fun day, even though the gym took a lot longer than planned.

So adorable! And what are the odds of that happening?

Wow, that sounds like... fun? :( I'm glad it went as well as it did. The Lord always helps so that we can say, "Well it could have been worse" right? Good times. I think my kids would have gone berserk.
