Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!!!

Grandpa Mullins bought us tickets to see Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! in Richmond. So, Gavin and I took a special trip to Virginia for this totally awesome event! At first, Gavin didn't know exactly what was going on, but he was happy to be there.

This was outside the theater.

Waiting for the show to start.

We all got DJ Lance glasses as we walked in.

I love Yo Gabba Gabba!!!!!

Potty Training

It's coming...I have been prepping Gavin for potty training. He isn't sure about it yet, but he brings it up on his own now, so that is a good sign. I tell him that when the diapers are all gone, then he will wear big boy underwear. Yesterday when I said the diapers were almost gone, he replied, "We buy some more." We'll see what happens.

Our Herb Garden

We planted a small herb garden this year on our windowsill. We have green onions, cilantro and basil. The plant in the cup is from Gavin's nursery class. He said that it will grow and then he will eat it. We don't even know what it is, but it is growing quite well.

Rainbow Cupcakes

In honor of St. Patrick's Day and the playgroup party I was hosting, I wanted to make a fun dessert. After browsing different recipes, I found this one for rainbow cupcakes. They took a little longer to make than I had anticipated, but they were totally worth it!

Mixing the different rainbow colors into the batter.
Layering each cupcake with each color.
Fresh out of the oven.

The finished product and they were a total hit!

August 2010

During August we went to the beach in North Carolina with Grandma and Grandpa Mullins. Gavin warmed up to the sand and ocean faster this year than last.
We went miniature golfing while in NC. Gavin had to have his own ball and club.

We found this ugly doll for Gavin while shopping in NC. He loves sleeping with it.

The family Christmas card picture was taken at the end of our beach trip.
Some of our friends had extra tickets to Kings Island, so they invited us to go. Gavin loved all the rides.
I think this lady bug one was his favorite.
I love his face here.

Gavin loves trains and he loved the train ride.
Gavin and Pierce had fun riding the various "kid only" rides.
I think the best part of the day were the Icees!
Oh, and meeting Snoopy!

June/July 2010

Just some fun pictures taken this past summer. The first few are from when we still lived in our apartment.
Gavin loves playing with the laundry basket. He uses it as a step stool a lot so that he can turn the lights on and off or so he can climb up on our bed.
Gavin loves to drive his cars along a flat surface. We often would come into our room to go to bed and find this kind of line up.
Totter's Otterville
Ben had an assignment from work that involved us buying and using various food items to make fun things to eat.
Can you see what he is holding in his right hand. Yep, that is Lightning McQueen. He loves that guy.
He also loves Buzz and Woody.
An awesome yard sale find.
Gavin loves any kind of hat.
Watching fireworks during 4th of July weekend.
Gavin and I took a long road trip with Oma and Opa this summer. We went from Gilbert, Arizona to Rexburg, Idaho for Melissa's graduation to Salt Lake City, Utah so we could pick up Ben from the airport to McCall, Idaho for a family reunion.
He was a little tired after all the graduation events.
We waited in the foyer during convocation and taking pictures was the only thing that entertained him.
Melissa, the graduate
Olivia at the family reunion.
This was the kids favorite place to play.
The reunion including my mom's side of the family. These are some of the cousins hanging out on the dock.
Natalie and Dustyn in the canoe. Natalie was a little nervous.
Gavin loved riding with Ben in the kayak.
Gavin fell asleep while riding with Ben in the kayak. He was just worn out from all the fun.
